HRH Princess Anne

During her visit to Otama in 2003, HRH Princess Anne expressed her deep connection to the submarine and its historical significance. She acknowledged the importance of preserving maritime heritage and was particularly impressed with the efforts of the Western Port Oberon Association in their restoration and preservation work. As a result, she graciously accepted the role of patron for the Victorian Maritime Centre project, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to supporting the initiative. The de-commissioning white ensign, which was presented to HRH during the ceremony, holds great symbolic value and serves as a reminder of the submarine’s service history.
